About the event

Join us for a special event as part of our America250 programming featuring author James Gindlesperger. He will discuss his compelling book, “Bullets and Bandages: The Aid,” which delves into the aid stations and field hospitals established during the pivotal Battle of Gettysburg.

During the tumultuous days of July 1-3, 1863, approximately 160,000 men engaged in one of the fiercest battles of the U.S. Civil War. The aftermath was devastating, with nearly one in three soldiers becoming casualties. As the two armies departed, a staggering 21,000 wounded soldiers remained in a town of just 2,500 people. Gindlesperger's book narrates the harrowing story of how these soldiers received care amidst chaos and limited resources.

We invite you to be part of this enlightening presentation, which will be followed by refreshments and a chance to mingle with the author. This is an excellent opportunity to gain insights into a significant historical event…
