Fundraising
The Fundraising Committee is kicking off this year's events with our annual Time Traveler’s Trivia. You don't have to be a trivia expert to enjoy the evening. It's all about having fun, sharing laughs, and enjoying great company.
To keep everyone energized, the HomeMade Restaurant will serving a delicious taco bar, complete with sides and desserts prepared by the committee. And of course, no taco night is complete without refreshing mocktails to round out the experience. Whether you bring a full team, compete solo, or decide to join a group at the door, you’re guaranteed a fantastic time.
The event will be held on April 17, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at the Armory. Tickets are $30 with a discount for our members, be sure to purchase your tickets in advance - tickets will not be available at the door.
The fun continues in May with our annual Oldies But Goodies Sale. If you enjoy finding great bargains while supporting a meaningful cause this event is for you.
The sale runs May 5-8 from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 pm and May 9 from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., at the Armory. Shoppers can browse a wide variety of high-quality, gently used items, all thoughtfully organized for a stress-free experience. From kitchenware and home décor to toys, books, and hidden treasures, there's something for everyone.
Donations for the sale will be accepted at the Historical Society on April 11, 14, 21, 28 and May 2 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Your contributions help make this event a success!
On May 16, join your friends for a delightful afternoon at our annual spring tea. Guests will enjoy an elegant selection of finger sandwiches, an assortment of sweets, and a variety of hot teas served throughout the afternoon.
The highlight of the afternoon will be a captivating presentation by Mary Jo Bowes, offering a unique and imaginative glimpse into the lives of the women who helped shape early America. Through this engaging program, you'll "meet" the wives of John Adams, Ben Franklin, James Madison, and most intriguing, Benedict Arnold. Their stories - filled with wit, insight, scandal and triumph - bring the Revolutionary Era to life in a fresh and entertaining way.

Prepare to be transported through time on June 12 at our upcoming runway show “A Century of Style: Indiana’s Threads and Times 1890-1980.” This exciting event blends history and fashion, showcasing an evolution of style - from the refined elegance of the 1890s to the bold, vibrant energy of the 1980s. It promises to be both a visual spectacle and a journey through the decades of change.
Programs
As part of the America 250 PA celebration, the Program Committee is pleased to present a spring series of engaging author talks and special events. We look forward to welcoming these talented speakers and exploring a range of fascinating historical topics.

The series begins on Tuesday, April 14 at 6:30 p.m. with author Tom McMillan discussing his book, The Year that Made America: From Rebellion to Independence. This compelling work traces the pivotal events of 1776 - from Thomas Paine’s Common Sense to the Continental Congress’s decision to declare independence - offering a vivid look at the birth of a nation.
On Tuesday, April 28 at 6:30 p.m. Dr. Charles Cashdollar will present a program on the history of Indiana University of PA, helping us to celebrate IUP's 150th anniversary.
Music takes center stage on Wednesday, May 20 at 6:30 p.m., when the Indiana County Fife and Drum Corp performs selections from the Revolutionary War Era in honor of our country’s 250th anniversary.
On May 28 at 6:30 p.m. we welcome our third author, James Gindlesperger, who will discuss his book Bullets and Bandages: The Aide. His presentation explores the harsh realities of war, focusing on survival and medical care in the aftermath of the Battle of Gettysburg.
